International scholarships for foreign student

A variety of scholarships are available for international students who want to study in Australia and can help you with the financial aspects of your studies. You shouldn't put all of your faith in getting a scholarship because there is fierce competition for them, but they are worth looking into.

How do get and who can apply for a scholarship?

While some scholarships cover these expenses in full for the duration of your degree, others just cover a fraction of the total, cover expenses for a single year, or offer a one-time payment for financial aid.

Although there is some financing available for students from developing countries who need it, the majority of scholarships are awarded based on academic performance. Be aware that some scholarships are only available to students from specific nations, while others may be tied to a particular course, field of study, or level of education (postgraduate degrees, for instance).

Eligibility

A specific course, subject of study, or degree of study may be associated with some scholarships, while others may only be available to international students from certain countries (you might find some scholarships that are restricted to German students studying music, for example).

  • Make sure you include the necessary documentation:
Academic transcripts, an offer letter, and references are a few examples of acceptable documentation. Where necessary, make sure to have certified and translated copies.

  • Determine whether you qualify for each scholarship:
Some scholarships are restricted to German students alone, while others may be tied to a particular course, subject of study, or degree of study. Some scholarships are only available to overseas students from specified countries.

  • The person who reviews your application should be able to speak English well:
If your scholarship application is filled out incorrectly, the committee may not consider it.

  • Submit as many scholarship applications as you can:
Even if some scholarships are for smaller sums, receiving any financing is preferable to receiving none at all. If you don't get accepted or the scholarship you get doesn't cover the entire cost of your education, make sure to reapply in subsequent years.

  • Request assistance with applications:
Before applying, contact the institution or organization giving the award if you have any queries regarding your eligibility or the submission requirements.
