TOEFL or SAT?

Those students who are going to study in Universities and Colleges in The United States of America have to go through a lengthy admission process and have to take two separate tests SAT or TOEFL Exams. SAT stands for Scholastic Admission test and TOEFL for Test of English as a foreign language. Let’s look at how they differ from one another comparatively:

SAT

TOEFL exam hosted by an Educational testing service checks your English skills as a non-native English speaker. 

SAT exams hosted by College boards are for US and Nonnative English speakers for getting admission to US Colleges and Universities. 

TOEFL has 4500 testing centers located in different countries. 

SAT has 1000 testing centers located in different Countries 

The total time of TOEFL exams is 3 Hours 20 minutes to 4 hours which has a 10-minute break included. 

The total time of SAT exams is 3 Hours 50 Minutes 

TOEFL exam can be a paper and internet-based test with reading, listening, speaking, and writing. 

SAT exam is a paper-based test with evidence-based reading, writing, and math 

For TOEFL exams parents’ consent letter is required. 

Parents’ Consent is not required for SAT exam

For TOEFL exams you have preparation materials such as TOEFL value pack prep plus, online speaking series, online speaking, and writing test, and online reading and listening test. 

SAT exam you don’t have preparation materials 

TOEFL standard exam fees are USD 180-185

SAT standard exam fees are USD 55 to USD 64.5. 

TOEFL has 60 pre-scheduled test dates in a year. 

SAT exam has only seven pre-scheduled test
