Tuition Fees and Scholarships in Italy

Undoubtedly, Italy has one of the recognized universities of the world but are the tuition fee and scholarship schemes of Italy attractive enough for Nepali students? Well, the government of Italy has been much unbiased in terms of providing education privileges to international students. International students can access the same educational benefits as Italian citizens. Educational expenses at Italian colleges are affordable if you compare them to other cities in Europe or North America. The expense of educational fees/ tuition fees relies on a few variables like the State-funded colleges have lower educational expenses than private colleges.

Standard expenses for EU and international students rely upon the family background and on the program you are applying for. However, you can expect at least 900€ to a limit of 4.000€ at a state-funded college. The normal educational expenses in private colleges can range between 3,000 - 35,000 EUR/year.

Italian government scholarship

This scholarship is granted to both Italian citizens and international students. The students can use this scholarship in higher education, master’s degree, language course, and cultural courses. The Italian government scholarship can be applied for  3 months, 6 months, and 9 months. This scholarship includes tuition fees, health insurance, and a monthly allowance.

 University of Padova Scholarships for All Degree Courses

The University of Padova finances low-income students (both Italian and international students) who have a good academic record and are willing to pursue a university in Italy.  The scholarship consists partly of money waiver to the international students along with extended services, such as accommodation or meals at the University canteens to students.

Bologna University Study Grants for International Students

The University of Bologna offers study grants to deserving international students for one academic year. The grants are given to the international student’s amount to a total of €11,059 and full tuition fee waivers. The students can avail of this scholarship scheme in bachelor, master, or yearly programs at the University of Bologna.

Bocconi Merit and International Awards

Bocconi University offers merit-based scholarships which include half to the full tuition waiver. The students can get scholarships worth up to €12,000 per year for the Bachelor’s Program and up to €13,000 per year for the Masters of Science Program.

EDISU Piemonte Scholarships

International students who decide to enroll in the universities of Piedmont- the Politecnico of Turin, the University of Torino, the University of Eastern Piedmont, can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship scheme is valid for bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and P.h.D level. This scholarship’s amount varies as per the condition of the students and further, the scholarship is extended to accommodation services to nonresidents also.
